Kirby Fernando Cañon is a partner and founding member of the firm. He focuses his practice on fighting for workers experiencing workplace harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and wrongful terminations. Mr. Cañon represents his clients against large, private, and public employers in both state and federal courts, and arbitration.

Mr. Cañon is a board member of the California Employment Lawyers Association (“CELA”). He is also a member of the National Employers Lawyers Association (“NELA”). In CELA, he has co-chaired several committees, including the Immigrant Employee Rights and Arbitration committees.

Mr. Cañon is bilingual in English and Spanish. He attended UCLA after earning a full academic scholarship and holds a B.A. in Political Science and International Development Studies. He graduated with a J.D. from the University of California, Law San Francisco with Outstanding Achievement for his Pro Bono work. He also clerked for the Honorable Maria Elena James, Chief Magistrate Judge, United States District Court, Northern District of California. Mr. Cañon was named a Super Lawyer Rising Star several years, starting in 2018. Each year no more than 2.5 percent of the lawyers in the state are selected by the research team at Super Lawyers to receive this honor.

Mr. Cañon is the proud son of a dedicated single-mother and was born in the beautiful San Andres Islas in Colombia. He came to United States in 1997. In his spare time, he is an avid soccer fan who enjoys cooking traditional dishes from around the world and keeping up with current events.
